Tomorrow is Thanksgiving here in the U.S. and I’m excited! In addition to not having any classes, it’s also a time to reflect on what you’re thankful for and gather with loved ones while you eat some really good food. An amazing holiday if I do say so myself!

Do you celebrate Thanksgiving?

If so, what are you doing for it? I’m staying in the area and having Thanksgiving with friends, which seems to be how I’ve rolled for the past few years. It started in college and for the most part, continued from there. In honor of this holiday, here are some posts from Thanksgivings past for your reading pleasure:

What are you most thankful for?

It wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without expressing appreciation and gratitude! Do you have a tradition where you go around the table and say what you’re thankful for? I’ve been to so many different places for Thanksgiving that I don’t have a tradition like that, but I will say this: this year, I am especially thankful for progress. Seriously, I am in a much different place than I was this time last year — and that’s really when I began my gratitude journey. I’m still stubborn about it sometimes and some recent news has made me sad lately, but I am so thankful for the progress that has been made in my life.
I’m especially looking forward to this Thanksgiving, though, because it will be my first with Tyler! It’s one of my favorite holidays and I am so happy that I get to spend it next to a guy I am so, so, so thankful to have in my life. I’m also attempting to cook a dish — and one that’s not macaroni and cheese — so we’ll see how it goes!
I know cooking is one way that a lot of people express their appreciation, but eating is mine! I’ve never been a cook and I tend to avoid it, but I’m so thankful to be invited to be with friends that I thought I’d express my gratitude by actually preparing something from scratch myself that’s not a smoothie, salad, or pasta.

Save the Date

Can you believe that December is just around the corner? I sure can’t! As I said a few weeks ago, GRAD-ITUDE 101 is turning into a monthly linkup! I’ll share more details about it — like the theme and prompts — next week. In the meantime, I thought I’d give you the date of the next linkup: Wednesday, December 18. So, save that date to get your December Gratitude on! In the meantime, enjoy Thanksgiving if you celebrate!
